New Zealand beat India by six runs in a thriller at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi despite late flurry by India's tail.

India needed 10 runs in the final over after being in a desperate situation at 183/8 at one juncture with nine overs to go. At that stage, India needed 50 runs to beat the Kiwis and trump their first innings total of 242. Hardik Pandya and Umesh Yadav were in the middle and that partnership had been going all guns blazing while amassing 49 runs.
That is when Pandya was holed out while trying to hit a a short delivery by Trent Boult and India’s hopes of picking up an unlikely win faded. Jaspreet Bumrah joined Umesh in the middle at Kotla in order to extend India’s winning run against New Zealand in India that stretched back to 2003 – or seven matches – but on the fourth delivery, he was castled by a Tim Southee yorker and brought curtains on India’s chase with six runs to be scored. The win helped Black Caps level the series to 1-1.
